Some minor red staining towards upper-edge. A good copy. Contemp. mottled calf, marbled endpapers, red edges, slight wear to joints and corners, stain on frontcover. Latin. Printed in France. This introduction, dealing mainly with the text and ancient versions of the Hebrew Bible, was obviously written in view of the author's edition of the Hebrew Bible, which appeared in 1753. Contains occasional Hebrew type, using the same large characters which appear in Houbigant's famous edition of the Hebrew Bible.
